The R-MA Parents' Association will host an informative presentation for 9th, 10th, 11th grade students and parents on the college admission process, "Getting From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be," by Peter Van Buskirk on Friday, March 9th at 1:30 p.m. in Boggs Chapel.
Van Buskirk is a leading advocate for students in the college planning process. A 35-year veteran of the selective college admission process, Van Buskirk is dedicated to helping families find student-centered solutions in college planning. His weekly blogs are featured on his website, BestCollegeFit.com, and he has appeared on numerous television and radio interviews, including “Oprah and Friends” with Jean Chatzky. Peter’s ability to personalize a complex and often mysterious college-going process makes him a popular speaker among students, parents and educators. His creative programming has informed, inspired and entertained thousands of high school, summer camp and corporate audiences around the world. Peter’s book, Winning the College Admission Game: Strategies for Students and Parents, is a best-seller and his workbook, Prepare, Complete, Win! The Ultimate College Planning Workbook for Students is a popular, interactive guide that is used in R-MA's planning process. This is the third year that Van Buskirk has visited R-MA to speak to the students.
This presentation is open to the community; seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
