Many high school graduates benefit from a transitional year of academic development, free from the distracting social pressures sometimes associated with the freshman year at college. Randolph-Macon Academy’s postgraduate program offers a unique opportunity for students who want to get started with their college education, but need an extra year of study in a structured environment.
In the postgraduate program, students may take standard high school courses that either need to be repeated or have not previously been taken. College courses are also available. Students acquire self-discipline, good study habits, and time management skills. Additionally, postgraduates are given an opportunity to sharpen their skills in order to improve college entrance exam scores. A postgraduate program is specifically designed to meet each individual student’s needs to improve his/her academic standing.
Postgraduate students are not eligible to participate in most sports at R-MA due to conference rules. R-MA does not have a separate athletic program for postgraduates.
