R-MA's summer programs offer students the opportunity to keep their minds sharp over the summer while still having some fun!

Registration for current students is easy and convenient. Parents of Middle School students simply choose two or three subjects for students to enjoy this summer, and e-mail the information to mssummer@rma.edu. Upper School students may register in person with the Admission Office, or they or their parents may send an e-mail to ussummer@rma.edu. (If you are not a current student, you must apply online or contact the Admission Office.)

Middle School Academic Summer Camp

Students in enter grades 6-8 in the fall expand their academic knowledge while having fun at R-MA's Middle School Summer Camp!  Mornings are spent in classes, while afternoons, evenings, and weekends are reserved for building friendships and, for boarding students, learning about living away from home.  Academic field trips are taken week. The theme for 2013 is "Presidents," a theme which will be woven throughout the enrichment courses offered.

Upper School Summer Courses

These summer school courses are for students entering grades 9-12, or seniors who need to take a class to graduate.  Students may take one new course or two repeat courses for high school credit.  The course hours meet or exceed Virginia State requirements.  The elective offerings feature Design Concepts in Engineering, Computer Programming/JAVA, Public Speaking, Personal Finance, Computer Literacy, Study Skills, SAT Prep and (new for 2013!) Creative Writing Workshop.

English as a Second Language

This summer immersion course is intended for international students who have previous exposure to English.  It is strongly recommended for all English as a Second Language (ESL) students who plan to attend R-MA for the regular school year. It runs the full four weeks of the summer school program.

Flight Camp

Designed specifically for students who would dream of flying and would like to solo in a Cessna 172, this flight training program is limited to 8 students.  We strongly recommend you enroll early as this program fills up quickly each year.
