Maj Gen Henry M. Hobgood is the president of Randolph-Macon Academy, a military boarding school in Front Royal, VA.Major General Henry M. Hobgood, USAF, Ret.

Major General Henry M. Hobgood has been the President of Randolph-Macon Academy since 1 July 1997.  He retired from the active duty Air Force in 1996 after serving 32 years, during which he held a variety of key leadership positions.  These included staff and command positions in the United States and overseas, with significant time in the areas of education and training and human resource management.  He served as Commander of the U.S. Air Force basic training organization, and commanded a combat support wing and a large education and training numbered Air Force.

Maj Gen Hobgood holds a B.S. in Education from North Carolina State University and an M.S. in Public Administration from Troy State University.  He also holds an M.S. in School Administration from Shenandoah University.  His professional education included the Air War College.  He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Warren Memorial Hospital.  General Hobgood serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  He is a past president of the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States as well as the Association of Educational Institutions of the United Methodist Virginia Annual Conference. He also belongs to the Front Royal Rotary Club.

General Hobgood is married to the former Carolyn Ann Royster of Oxford N.C. They have one daughter, Cynthia, who is a communications/marketing manager.
