Band Performances
Randolph-Macon Academy’s Virginia 91st Air Force Junior ROTC Band is recognized as one of the outstanding military preparatory school bands in the United States. In recent years, the band has traveled extensively and has performed at many prestigious events and parades throughout the nation, including:
- Performance Tours to Orlando, Florida (performed at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney MGM Studios, Universal Studios, and Sea World)—2008, 2006, 2004, 2002, 2000, 1997, 1993, 1990, 1987
- Tulip Time Festival Parade, Holland, Michigan—2007, 2005, 2003, 1994
- Midway Parade at Cedar Point Theme Park, Sandusky, Ohio—2007, 2005, 2003, 2001, 1994
- Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, New York, New York—2008, 2006, 2003, 2002, 2000, 1999
- Indianapolis “500” Festival Parade and Pre-Race Band Pageant at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway—2001, 1988
- Performed for Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, Washington, DC—1998, 1997
- U. S. Air Force 50th Anniversary Celebration, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama—1997
- Lawrence Welk Theater, Branson, Missouri—1996
- Fiesta Battle of Flowers Parade and Fiesta Flambeau Parade, San Antonio, Texas—1995, 1992
The band performs for many events annually throughout Virginia and neighboring states:
- Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Firefighters’ Parade and Grand Feature Parade, Winchester, Virginia
- Alsatia Mummers’ Parade, Hagerstown, Maryland
- Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, Washington, DC
- Veterans’ Day Ceremony, Warren County Courthouse, Front Royal, Virginia
- Christmas Parades in Front Royal, Fredericksburg, Manassas, and/or elsewhere in Virginia
The band performs on-campus for the Randolph-Macon Academy AFJROTC Corps of Cadets and the Community including:
Air Force Junior ROTC Parades and Special Ceremonies during Homecoming Weekend, Fall and Spring Family Weekends, and Commencement
Concerts at Christmas, Spring Family Weekend and at Commencement
Randolph-Macon Academy is a member of the Military School Band Association and selected members of the band participate annually at the Military School Band Festival.
