R-MA Receives Grant From Warren County Sheriff's Office

Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron

On February 1, 2017, Warren County Sheriff, Daniel McEathron presented Randolph-Macon Academy’s President, Brig. Gen. David Wesley, USAF Retired with a check in the amount of $127,960.  It was awarded to the Sheriff’s Office through a Community Oriented Policing Secure Our Schools Grant.  

This brings to completion a seven year collaborated project between the Sheriff’s Office and Randolph -Macon Academy to provide the Academy’s campus with a much needed video security system.

On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, Randolph-Macon Academy students were treated to a presentation by Dr. Ellen Stofan, former Chief Scientist at NASA. 

Stofan’s presentation touched a variety of topics, displaying the depth and breadth of NASA’s programs and the importance of the organization. She shared with the students that in addition to exploring other worlds, NASA’s programs provide information that allow scientists to better understand Earth as well. 

Southland Energy Conducting Randolph-Macon Academy Campus Energy Upgrade

This past October, Southland Energy, a comprehensive energy services firm and division of Southland Industries, was awarded a series of upgrades and replacements for Randolph-Macon Academy, a leading co-educational day and boarding school for students in grades six through twelve in Front Royal, Virginia. The Academy facilities span 300,000 square feet on a 135-acre campus.

CyberPatriot Team Makes Gold Tier

Congratulations to the R-MA CyberPatriot team for qualifying for the All-Service Division gold tier state round of competition! This marks the Academy's second consecutive year of competition, and the second year in which they qualified for state competition--and this was accomplished by a new team of different students! The team's current standing is 9th among 109 multi-service teams; they go onto compete in the State Round on January 14th. The team is under the direction of MSgt Stephen Pederson, USAF, Retired, who is also new to the CyberPatriot competitions.
