On Thursday, April 27, the Yellow Jacket golf team traveled to Fredericksburg to play Fredericksburg Christian and Trinity Christian at Lee's Hill Golf Club. The weather was beautiful and the Jackets played one of their best matches of the year against the Division II, number 8 ranked team in the state, Trinity Christian and Fredericksburg Christian. The Jackets won both matches, 133-150 over Trinity and 133-153 over Fredericksburg.

The R-MA team was led by Joseph Silek ‘17 who shot a match low of 41. Jacob Karen ’19 fired a nice round of 45, and Connor Gamma ‘20 tied his lowest score of the year with a 47. Ben Kopjanski ‘20 also tied his season low with a nice 53 and Mikayla Reifert ‘17 shot a personal best of 56. With these wins the Yellow Jackets are now 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the D.A.C.

Next week proves to be a pivotal week with four matches scheduled over a three day period. On Monday, May 1, the R-MA team travels to Fairfax to play Trinity and Highland at Army Navy Country Club. On Tuesday, May 2, the Jackets will host Blue Ridge in a non-conference match. On Wednesday, May 3, the D.A.C. leading Wakefield Owls come to S.V.G.C. to play the Jackets in what could be the most important match of the season.
