Middle School Academic Summer Camp: The Perfect Blend of Fun and Learning!

Summer Camp Runs June 30 - July 26, 2013

This Middle School Academic Summer Camp will engage your child’s mind over the long summer months while mixing in plenty of fun!  Students build skills, explore interests, have a ton of fun, and actually enjoy learning!

A variety of academic courses are available to allow students to develop their skills or pursue a passion. After a few hours of morning classes, campers move on to interactive group fun, sports, swimming, community service, conservation projects, games, and other activities. Evenings include organized activities such as bonfires, movie trips, bowling, mini golf, and more!

The Middle School Summer Camp is for students entering grades 6-8 this fall. While most of the campers hail from Virginia, some come from throughout the U.S. and even from other countries.

R-MA is located in the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, a place of amazing beauty and battle-filled history. Each year, a theme based on this setting is woven through the history, science, and reading and writing classes. The theme for Summer Camps 2013 is the Presidents. Virginia is rich with presidential history, from Mt. Vernon near Alexandria, VA, to Monticello located in Charlottesville, VA, both just over an hour from campus. Our close proximity to these historical venues means that history truly will come alive for the students this summer. Future scientists will find the theme intriguing as they learn about the inventions of former presidents and conduct CSI-style investigations into the forensics of assassination attempts. Click here for the course descriptions.
