Evening & Weekend Activities

Day students are welcome to participate in boarding activities such as study hall, dinner, and weekend trips. They can even spend a night in the dorms if needed.

For children involved in the intramural program, pick up is at 4:10.  If you cannot pick up your child at that time, then he or she will participate in scheduled activities until you arrive.  Some day students may be enrolled in the SIP program; those who do not require the structured study of SIP can stay on campus in the dorm lounge to work on homework until 5:30 pm.

Prior arrangements can be made by the parents if it is necessary for a day student to remain on campus after 5:30.  The day student will attend dinner with the boarding students and a late pick-up is arranged with the dormitory staff.  While we prefer to have advance notice, we can accommodate your child for dinner even if unforeseen circumstances arise, such as a traffic jam.  A nominal fee will be applied to the student’s account for dinner and any additional time in the dorm.

Arrangements may also be made for a day student to spend the night in the dormitory if space is available.  A nominal fee will be assessed.  Two-day prior notice is requested.

There are various student activities outside of the regularly scheduled day and on weekends.  Day students are invited and encouraged to attend any activity that interests them.  Activities include participation in parades, trips to dinner or the movies, bowling, paintball, amusement parks and the mall.  To participate in an activity, the student needs to sign up with the point of contact listed.  Some activities have a non-refundable fee which will be charged to the student’s account.
